The management encourages staff members to attend study days, training courses and seminars.  At Brooklands we believe that the enhancement of knowledge and skills for personal professional development will improve the standard of care delivered to our residents.  Ongoing NVQ training for carers is undertaken in-house with our qualified trainer.
Our aim is to provide a homely and safe environment in which residents receive the highest level of care appropriate to their needs, while retaining as much self- determination as possible in all aspects of their lives.
Brooklands Nursing home undertakes the management of resident’s complex needs. This enables us to offer a wide variety of experiences for student nurses. Some of the physical conditions that the student nurse may encounter during the placement will include management of:

  • Diabetes
  • Mellitus
  • Parkinson Disease
  • Stroke
  • Arthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • and other diseases.

Students are able to see how Hydration, Nutrition, Incontinence, and Dysphagia are managed in a nursing home setting.
