Multi-Professional and Holistic approach
Residents are registered with our own General Practitioners who carry out weekly visits. Emergency visits are attended by our General Practitioner or the On call Care team. Hospital visits can be arranged with ambulance or other transport. A multi – professional approach of care is advocated for our residents.
Visits by physiotherapists, speech therapists, community psychiatric nurses, Opticians, chiropodists and social workers are available as needed. The hairdresser visits once a week to provide hairdressing services.
Visiting specialists such as Incontinence Nurses, Tissue Viability advisor’s, Hospice nurses and Infection Control Nurses make regular visits in an advisory capacity. Our local Surgery provide Brooklands residents with the Nomad System of Medication. In – house training on the Nomad System is carried out for all new staff nurses and supervised placement nurses.
An activities programme is available to all residents and during the Summer months outings can be arranged for those who are able to participate. Various church groups and other voluntary bodies visit the residents periodically. Announced and unannounced inspections are carried out by the Commission for Social Care Inspections.
